Matt Barteluce is a New Jersey native, artist, illustrator, and amateur ufologist whose work explores themes of mystery, folklore, and the paranormal. He earned his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2003 and his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2010. He spent several years as an art director for the global ad agency Young & Rubicam Group, and co-founded Carrier Pigeon, a quarterly magazine featuring fine art and literature.

From 2014 to 2023, Barteluce served as director of Guttenberg Arts, a nonprofit community art center where he supported hundreds of artists through public programming and curatorial work.

He is currently the Lead Visual Arts Teacher at Empowerment Academy, a public charter school in Jersey City, where he teaches 5th and 6th grade scholars. In the classroom, he encourages young artists to think critically, experiment boldly, and express themselves authentically.
